Where Will You Will Fit In?

The Senior Associate, Country Programs will play a key role in driving country-level implementation efforts, helping to turn evidence, innovations, and strategic insights into practical policy changes, product introduction, and durable procurement approaches. Reporting to the Principal, Country Programs, this mid-level position serves as an essential link between technical teams, government counterparts, and partners to advance equitable access to critical health commodities—especially those focused on maternal and newborn care.

The successful candidate will be a proactive and intellectually curious professional who brings strong analytical skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to collaborate across diverse global and governmental stakeholders. They should be comfortable navigating fast-moving environments, managing several work streams at once, and contributing to both strategic policy initiatives and hands-on operational challenges. Clear communication and an ability to distill complex information will be key.

The role is based in Malawi.

What Will You Do?

Implementation and Government Engagement

  • Lead day-to-day execution of in-country activities and ensure alignment with Malawi’s maternal and newborn healthpriorities.
  • Work with the Ministry of Health, regulators, and technical working groups to integrate priority products into nationalguidelines, essential medicines lists, and procurement processes.
  • Facilitate product registration and regulatory acceleration to expand access to quality-assured commodities.

Market Intelligence and Strategy

  • Collect and synthesize market data to develop clear roadmaps for product introduction and scale-up.
  • Translate market insights into briefs, investment cases, and advocacy tools that support government and partnerdecision-making.
  • Procurement and Supply Systems
  • Strengthen catalytic procurement planning and support the integration of commodities into national supply chains.
  • Lead the development and routine updating of commodity and procurement forecasts.

Monitoring, Learning, Collaboration

  • Track progress against project indicators anddocument lessons learned to inform regional and cross-country learning.
  • Collaborate closely with the Principal and cross-country colleagues to ensure operational consistency and strategicalignment.

What Are We Looking For?

  • Advanced degree in Public Health, Pharmacy,Health Policy, or a related field.
  • 6–8 years of experience in product introduction, health product development, or commercialization in Africa.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills, with demonstrated experience working with governments and donors.
  • Solid understanding of pharmaceutical product pathways, regulatory ecosystems, and market enablers.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communicationskills.
